It’s only natural to end Winter with a slightly dry and dull complexion! But as the sun shines life back into your skin, you may find that it needs a little help to give it the glow you deserve. We are living in an era that healthy glowy skin is in, and the days of matte skin is gone forever.
The Fashion In The City Team has compiled a list of 5 tips on how to achieve a beautiful summer complexion.
1. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
The base is the most important part of any makeup look; any painting is only as nice as its canvas! Start your makeup routine with skincare: cleanse, tone, and moisturize before applying your base products. This will ensure that your skin looks healthy right from the start.
2. Use an illuminating primer.
To keep your foundation in place and illuminate your skin under it, spread a bit of an illuminating primer on your skin with your fingers or a brush. If you opt to skip foundation for this natural look, you can use a lightweight, pore filling primer that leaves less of a sheen on the skin.
3. Choose a good bronzer and highlighter.
The perfect formula to ensure your skin looks healthy and sunkissed, is the combination of bronzer and highlighter according to your face shape. A couple fool proof places to apply bronzer are right under your cheekbones and around your temples; think of the application as shading your face. As for highlighter, place it on the spots that the sun hits: the top of your cheekbones, under the brow, the tip of your nose and your nose bridge, and your cupid’s bow.
4. Choose a lightweight lipstick.
Stir away from sticky formulas or dry lips, and try to opt for soft formulas that are comfortable to wear. Tinted chapstick is your safest bet, and if you need a bigger pop of color, apply a satin finish lipstick.
5. Set it all together!
Summer is always the hottest time of the year, and creamy products like foundations and concealers naturally have trouble staying in place. A good setting spray will lock your look in place all day, while maintaining your beautiful and glowy skin!
And voila! These natural makeup tips will help you transition into Spring and Summer effortlessly, after the long Winter.
