SEQUINS
Shine bright like a diamond this New Year’s Eve! Always a staple for any party look, sequins are making their comeback in the upcoming year. If glamour is what you want to evoke, a dress adorned with small metallic sequins is the way to go, or an animal leopard print sequins that is going to be huge in 2019.

VELVET
Sophisticated and feminine, velvet has dominated every store in the past few months. It is a welcomed comeback from the 1980s and 1990s, as the retro style becomes more prevalent. Update your go-to little black dress to a more luxurious alternative in velvet or go for a dramatic cape moment in magenta by Prabal Gurung.

PLEATED
If you are celebrating in warm or tropical weather, pleated fabrics are a fantastic option to look and feel trendy. Pleated fabrics also do a fantastic job elongating the silhouette, even more so when paired with high heels. The pleated skirts we saw tended to hit just at mid-calf, with options from Jil Sander, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, and Fendi.

RED
If you are a fan of the ‘one color’ trend, the hottest hue of 2019 is expected to be the color red. Not only should you expect to see this color on the racks of every store and dominating the runways, but you should also prepare your closet for full outfits of one color variation. For a look with more edge, pair your red outfit with other pink pieces and accessories, a color combination used by many designers in 2018.

ACCESSORIES
Accessorizing is the most important part of customizing a look. This year’s stars have been geometric designs of necklaces and earrings, embellished rings and bracelets, and modern design accessories. Tiaras are also making a comeback in 2019, a perfect addition to feel like a princess in any outfit.

BEAUTY
Details always make or break a look; your makeup should tie the complete fashion ensemble together. We saw many trends go by in 2018, but the one that prevails is the glowy look. Not bare-faced but not quite covered either, the skin should emanate a natural dewiness and glow to avoid the unnatural appearance of a full-coverage foundation. Eyeliner and eyeshadow will bring in edge, in geometrical and bold designs. This year’s biggest trend in beauty, was without a doubt, metallic and glossy lips, that you could incorporate into any look.
